Nirodha

Meditation concerts, kirtan circles and sound journeys for festivals, yoga spaces and retreat centres across Europe.

Small rooms, floor seating, minimal amplification. This is music for spaces where people can lie down — not stand and watch.

Live formats

Each one asks something different from the room. If none of them fits your event exactly, say so in the form — most bookings end up somewhere between two of these.

60 minutes

Meditation Concert

Instrumental, seated, no participation asked of anyone. Native flute, classical guitar and tanpura drone. People arrive, sit or lie down, and listen.

Best for festivals with a quiet stage, retreat centres, cultural venues.

Kirtan circle gathering
90 minutes

Kirtan & Mantra Circle

Call and response with voice, harmonium and percussion. Nobody needs to be able to sing. The room carries the sound together, and by the third mantra most people have forgotten they were self-conscious.

Best for yoga festivals, wellness weekends, community spaces.

Immersive Sound Journey

Live music, guided stillness and long stretches of nothing at all. Built around your programme rather than dropped into it, so this one needs a conversation first.

Best for retreats, multi-day festivals, private gatherings.

Nirodha takes its name from the Sanskrit word for cessation — the stilling of mental noise. The project is built on native flute, classical guitar, harmonium, tanpura and voice, chosen because each of them can hold a single tone without demanding attention.

More than 12,000 people follow the project on Insight Timer, where the sleep recordings have an average rating of 4.8. That audience is not a vanity number here: when a date is confirmed, I announce it to them.

Before you ask

Fees and travel

A donation-based sangha and a ticketed festival are not the same thing, and I don’t quote them the same. Tell me what kind of space you run and roughly what you can move, and you’ll get a number back rather than a negotiation.

Travel is from Madrid. For anything outside Spain the fee assumes flights and one night of accommodation for one person — but if the date sits next to another booking in the same region, that changes and I’ll say so.

Technical rider

Nothing here is a condition of booking. It’s what makes the room sound its best, and it’s here so your technician has it early.

Sound and stage

  • PA appropriate to the size of the room
  • 2 × stage monitors
  • Mixing desk, 4 channels minimum
  • 2 × condenser microphones for instruments
  • 1 × dynamic vocal microphone
  • 3 × microphone stands
  • 1 × DI box
  • An engineer, or someone who knows the desk

Space and logistics

  • Playing area of at least 4m × 3m
  • Dimmable or low ambient lighting
  • 30 minutes of soundcheck before doors
  • Somewhere quiet to prepare beforehand
  • Travel from Madrid, by air or rail
  • Accommodation for one, if it’s an overnight
  • Floor cushions or mats, if the room allows it

If your space has none of this, say so rather than ruling yourself out. Some of the best rooms I’ve played had no PA at all — the acoustic version of this set exists for exactly that reason.
